Final two pandemic-delayed BTO projects completed: HDB
Minister for National Development Desmond Lee has publicized the finalization of the last two pandemic-delayed projects from HDB, according to a Jan 20 launch.
Located between Serangoon Roadway, Lavender Street and Boon Kheng Road, Kempas Residences BTO project has 583 units of two-room flexi, three-, four-room flats across four residential blocks.
Flat homeowners of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) have actually been receiving the keys to their new home since November 2024, while key collection for Kempas Residence started in mid-January this year.
The 22 home projects included two Shorter Waiting Time (SWT) projects, which were finished within a waiting duration of a lot less than three years. The SWT work, Parc Glen at Tengah and Grove Spring at Yishun, comprised a total amount of 1,995 flats.
The standing ventures had waiting times of approximately 5 years. In general, over 18,000 apartments were finished in 2024, says HDB.
According to HDB, the finalization of Punggol Point Cove (Phase 2) marks the conclusion of all flats in the Punggol Point District. This includes Punggol Point Cove (Phase 1), Punggol Point Woods and Punggol Point Crown BTO ventures, which were completed in 2024.
In 2024, HDB finished a total of 22 housing projects, 17 of which were postponed by the pandemic. With the exception of one that was delayed due to non-pandemic causes, the remaining four home plans were finished on time.
The final block, which was delayed by six months from its initial PCD, was finished in mid-January.
Placed along New Punggol Roadway, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) comprises 1,179 units of two-room flexi, three-, four- and five-room flats throughout 6 residential blocks. Following pandemic hold-ups, the work’s last block was finished twelve month from its initial Probable Completion Date (PCD) earlier this month.
The two Build-to-Order (BTO) plans, Punggol Point Cove (Stage 2) and Kempas Residences, note the conclusion of HDB’s pandemic-delayed real estate ventures. As a whole, the 92 projects have supplied over 75,800 brand-new flats to Singaporeans over the last 5 years.
At the moment, 110 HDB housing jobs are under construction, up from 95 a year ago due to the increase in BTO supply in recent years. HDB says it is on track to complete around 17,000 flats throughout 27 projects in 2025.
As at Jan 15, 657 houses or 59% of 1,109 lined up units have gotten their keys.
HDB is expected to inform the waiting flat owners of their key collection date shortly, following the completion of the final blocks within both ventures this month.
