Habyt launches new flexible living space in Tanjong Pagar

Kada at Maxwell will offer a range of rooms, involving en suite studios and 2- to three-bedroom units. Each unit has a completely set up kitchen space. Visitors can book rooms on a nightly or every week basis, with a 12-month choice additionally readily available.

Wong says Habyt Kada at Maxwell represents the company’s dedication to redefining flexible living in Singapore and notes its shift towards the next phase of growth for Habyt Asia Pacific. Room rates at Kada at Maxwell is going to begin at $180 per day.

Habyt has already released a new accomodation spot at 5 Kadayanallur Street in Tanjong Pagar. The 18-room Kada at Maxwell is the flagship place for the operator’s Habyt Flex approach, which offers a strategic expanding of the company’s product offerings beyond extensive co-living.

Locals of Kada at Maxwell will enjoy infinite and courtesy access to the property’s health and well-being features, including the performance gym, cold plunge, infrared saunas, hot tubs and foot bathrooms.

The flexible space is located throughout a maintained 1920s colonial building. The three-storey building, designed by the architectural firm Swan & Maclaren, was one of the earliest modernist structures in Singapore. It was built to house the St Andrew’s Mission Hospital for Women and Children.

SLA mentioned Bethesda’s strong focus on community structure and connecting people with businesses as what gave its concept the succeeding edge. The first level will feature 10 F&B offerings, whilst the 2nd level will house a gym by Limitless, a wellness centre in collaboration with Shiruki Studio, and a co-working area. Habyt’s Kada at Maxwell is on the third level.

In August, Habyt Asia Pacific CEO Jonathan Wong signalled that the company was planning to include even more short living options to its local lineup. The first properties under the Habyt Flex concept are the 39-room Habyt Novena and the 27-room Habyt Kallang, both started in August. Other properties under the Habyt Flex concept include Habyt Cantonment and Owen Property by Habyt.

A public tender to lease the property, now handled by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA), was released in September 2023. The tender was evaluated based on the bid price and the top quality of the proposed idea, and SLA encouraged prospective buyers to think about creative way of living ideas.

“By blending modern benefits with the ageless charm of a heritage building, we’re offering guests an unique lifestyle experience that exceeds conventional accommodation,” adds Wong.

The site was granted to Bethesda Medical, which sent a monthly rental bid of $103,000, the third-highest quote cost after Wan Dormitory ($160,000) and The Working Capitol ($108,240).
